2. The "Box Hop" Shipping Container Paradise - Hocking Hills, OH
Book Now For $395/night

When traveling the world, one could choose to stay in conventional housing like a hotel. However, for those looking to mix things up a little bit, Airbnb offers up different options for the adventurous. Sometimes, these more exciting options can even be more cost-effective than traditional boarding.

This time, we take the opportunity to catch up with one Airbnb that has really caught a lot of eyeballs. It's known as "The Box Hop."

The concept of creating a shipping container home is pretty popular right now. However, we're not sure that very many people are able to put together the plan and execute it.

However, The Box Hop does it on a high level. We can't help but love the rustic and cozy feel that the home offers up. While it is designed to feel a sense of privacy, it's surprisingly capable. In fact, up to 8 guests can enjoy the home at the same time.

So, what's so special about this home that it stays booked about a year in advance?

The container home is situated on 18.5 acres in Hocking Hills. If you don't have a map handy, that's smack dab in the middle of Ohio state park territory.

We weren't too familiar with the area ourselves, but upon a quick search, found that they're actually well known for their natural attractions like waterfalls and caves along with festivals, events, and fine dining.

The home itself, devoid of all neighbors, is constructed of three intermodal shipping containers. It's designed to feel like cabin life with a twist. The owner says that they wanted to take on a simplistic approach centered around sustainability and modern design.

On paper, the home consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths that seem to be well thought out with the main goal of relaxation in mind. In addition to this, we also find features like a fireplace, access to the rooftop patio, and even a hot tub!

We think that one of the coolest features is the aforementioned 18.5 acres that will allow guests to explore without even leaving the property.

We have to admit that we wanted to head to Ohio to check it out for ourselves but this property is so popular that it stays booked for about a year in advance.
