The World's First Floating Hotel is Sitting Abandoned in North Korea
If we were to take a poll of the world, we would probably guess the most people would say a floating hotel is nothing short of a crazy idea.
Not only is the architecture of putting something like this together going to be an insane project. Something comparable pretty much already exists with the likes of a cruise ship. Not only that but a cruise ship can move around unlike a floating hotel.
However, the floating hotel ended up being an idea with enough momentum that it actually ended up getting made. As things moved forward, though, there would be tons of factors that would figuratively sink the hotel.
From obscure stories that relate World War II relics all the way to different management disputes, it just seems like this hotel was cursed from the start. The idea was definitely one-of-a-kind. However, an idea is only as good as its execution.
We aren't saying that the team behind this one didn't try and didn't have good ideas. However, execution sometimes comes down to luck. A string of bad luck could be enough to put any business under.
By following along with the video below, we get to see how this floating hotel came to be stuck at a dock in North Korea. After lots of different angles to try and make the hotel succeed, it looks like it might've just met its last guests.
The demolition of the hotel had been commanded by Kim Jong Un. However, that fate hasn't come into focus just yet. As of now, it just sits, rotting away on its way to being a memory of the past.
Does the concept of the floating hotel have a place in the future? That is a question that remains to be seen. However, this particular example looks to be a trial run that is on its last legs.
