Family of 5 Shows Us How to Live Off the Grid in COVID-Proof Compound
As we sit inside and try to find any entertainment possible, some may find their minds wandering. In an era that is unprecedented, it can leave us to question things that we've never even considered.
One of the first things that came to my mind, personally, is just how sustainable our current way of living really is. Are we really set up to be able to handle this sort of adversity?
Even though COVID-19 is a major concern, what happens if the next threat is even bigger? Let's just say that some forward thinkers have begun to think about how they'll prepare for themselves. This involves everything from food to living quarters and everything in between. It would be downright irresponsible to take on a situation like this without better preparing ourselves for the future.
This time, we check in with a family of five who we would say is more than prepared. Their form of off-grid living is about the epitome of preparedness for a situation just like this.
Now, we're not saying that everyone needs to buy a place in the middle of nowhere. However, there are a couple of tricks here that anyone could implement into their own back yard.
By following along with the video below, we go off the grid to see a new way of living. It has taken a good bit of work. However, this family looks like they could live for months at a time without even needing to depend on anyone.
We also get to learn how they built everything given that it all had to come up on a barge. That's right, the only way to gain access to this place is via the water.
Do you think that you have what it takes to go off the grid and live off the land?
